Everyday Punishments – Jono Verrall

Everyday Punishments’ is a project centred around the return to small-town New Zealand life in search of a reluctant sense of “home” as a means of reconciling past and present-day trauma.

I am a photographer born and based in Whakatū, Aotearoa (Nelson, New Zealand). My work aims to depict the largely unchanging, simplistic ways of small-town life and observe our relationship with place; characteristically our impact on that which surrounds us.
